World Superbikes star, Victor Steeman dies at 22 following horror multi-rider crash during champions

Victor Steeman, a Dutch World Supersport 300 motorcycle rider, has passed away at the age of 22 after sustaining injuries in a crash during a race in Portugal. The tragic incident occurred during the championship race at the Algarve circuit, where Steeman collided with another rider and required airlifting to a hospital in Faro.

Despite the extensive efforts of medical staff and officials, Steeman sadly succumbed to his injuries. He had entered the Portuguese round of the championship with a chance of competing for the title after achieving four wins during the season.

In a poignant gesture, Steeman’s family revealed that he had saved five lives by donating his organs. His untimely demise comes shortly after the death of British Superbikes rider Chrissy Rouse, who succumbed to head injuries resulting from a collision with another rider at England’s Donington Park circuit.

Expressing their grief, Steeman’s family conveyed their pride in his selfless act and thanked everyone for their support in the difficult time. Tributes have flooded in for Steeman from across the racing community, with WorldSBK honoring him as a remarkable racer and an enduring presence in the paddock.
